Project Phases and Assessment
Project Phases
SL Proj 002 is divided into four phases. Each phase is important and for a detailed schedule and phase outcomes please click here. Briefly here is a description of each phase.
Phase One
SL Proj. 001 weeks 1 to 4. (SL Weeks 2 to 5)
Conduct research into lifelong learning. Use written sources and a lecture to write an individual Introduction to the project report.
Write a literature review. Use your notes to write a literature review introducing the concept, benefits of lifelong learning and the characteristics of lifelong learners.
Form teams. Agree a team contract. Identify a specific lifelong learning characteristic to research as a team.
Choose a specific lifelong learning characteristic. As a team identify a lifelong learning characteristic to research further. This will be the characteristic you will present in phase 3.
Reflect individually. Consider how you have developed during the phase (langauge skills, hard and soft skills, knowledge...etc). Consider areas you would like to develop further.
Attend the Team Tutorial Meeting. As a team reflect on the first two phases of the project with your teacher.

Research into your chosen lifelong learning characteristic. Identify individual sources & take detailed notes.
Synthesise your sources. Use your individual notes to identify relevant information for your Background Research.
Record part of your discussion. LP task #5.
Start to choose and organise the information for your presentations and poster.

Phase Three
SL Proj. 001 weeks 9 to 13. (SL Weeks 9 to 12)
Plan a poster to summarise your teams research.
Plan and deliver a 15 minute presentation. Present the results of your research to your peers and teachers in SL .
Prepare for and present a poster presentation. Present the results of your research at the SL Conference. All members of Sabancı University are invited to the conference.

Provide feedback to your teacher. Help improve the project in the future by giving considered an constructive feedback. Consider what worked well or could be improved. How can we give participants more opportunities to learn and develop?
Provide advice to future participants. What do you think learners should know about Proj. to help them make the best of their learning opportunities?
Attend the Team Tutorial Meeting. As a team reflect on all the project with your teacher.

Assessment in SL Proj. 001.2
This part of the assessment focuses on your research into Lifelong learning and how this is reflected in your project report. It also includes the individual piece of writing from phase one and the way you deliver your activity on the project day. As always we expect high quality work in these areas and this will also be reflected in your Quality of Work score.
Contribution to the Team
The Quality of Work - Project Weeks 2,3,5,6,7,9 & 10 (Individual assessment)
This component is about the quality of work and the effort you put into producing high quality work throughout the whole project. Your teacher will give you a Quality of Work score for most weeks of the project.
The key criteria are:

- Contribution to the success of your team's project.
- Producing work of a personally high standard.
- Learning from external feedback and personal feedback. Using reflection to improve the standard of your work.
- Being prepared for lessons.
- Holding and documenting your weekly planning meetings.
- Meeting the phase deadlines.
- Keeping your teacher informed of your team's progress.
- Recording your discussion in phase two.

Quality of Reflection - Project weeks 4, 8 & 14
This applies to the Team Tutorial Meetings and the written reflection on the activity in Phase Three. The key criteria are:

- Describing skills, knowledge and attitudes you developed or learned during the phase.
- Describing how these skills, knowledge and attitudes may be of use in the future.

Presentations and Poster
In this section we assess the project report you and your team produce as well as your individual writing in phase one and the way you deliver your lifelong learning activity. As always we expect high quality work and your work will also be reflected on a weekly basis by the Quality of Work score.
